Anoop Nautiyal who is contesting from Dehradun Cantt assembly constituency, fully supported by Women

A group of women statehood agitators has extended its support to independent candidate Anoop Nautiyal who is contesting from Dehradun Cantt assembly constituency. According to the group, both BJP and Congress members have proved “opportunists” and have been working only for the welfare of their families for the past 16 years.
“This was not the reason why the state had been created. We fought to make it a better place to live but instead we got corruption and ignorance in return,” said Sulochna Bhatt, who is among women agitators supporting Nautiyal.
Rajeshwari Chamoli said that the women agitators have decided to back someone who has vision and commitment to serve people and the state. “We have decided to extend support to Anoop Nautiyal as over the years he has remained dedicated to people as a social worker and we have high hopes from him,” said Chamoli.
Another statehood agitator Kamla Bhatt said that she would not vote for the Congress or the BJP. “We have backed candidates from these political parties since 2002 but they have done virtually nothing for the state. Dehradun was among the most beautiful cities in the country but now one can find only construction material and heaps of garbage everywhere,” she said.
Nautiyal said that the support of women agitators has come as a huge bonus to the AAP. “On one end, people have seen the performance of BJP candidate and sitting MLA Harbans Kapoor for over two decades now. The Congress has named Suryakant Dhasmana, who was against the creation of the state. I am confident that people will vote for change this time in Dehradun Cantt assembly seat.”
